Dell Technologies launches uDaan to train 23,000 youth in emerging tech skills

Dell Technologies has launched uDaan, a national skilling initiative aimed at preparing 23,000 young Indians for employment opportunities in artificial intelligence, cloud computing and electronics manufacturing. The programme will be implemented across 190 government and aided institutions in five major technology hubs—Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune.

The initiative is being delivered through a consortium comprising FITT-IIT Delhi, Learning Links Foundation and Generation India Foundation. FITT-IIT Delhi will develop and certify four specialised curricula covering AI application development, cloud development, assembly-line operations and field technician roles. More than 40 employers from technology, electronics manufacturing, Global Capability Centres and hyperscaler sectors have contributed to validating the courses.

Beyond classroom training, uDaan is designed to create stronger pathways from education to employment. Participants will receive access to employer connections, apprenticeships and career support, while eligible learners can explore opportunities through national apprenticeship schemes.

The programme also has an entrepreneurship component. During its first year, uDaan aims to support the creation of 25 deep-tech startups and 10 micro-enterprises. Dell employees will contribute more than 2,000 hours of mentoring across the five technology corridors, covering career guidance, AI awareness and interview preparation.

The initiative reflects the growing demand for future-ready talent as AI and digital technologies reshape India’s employment landscape. By combining technical training, industry exposure, mentorship and entrepreneurship support, uDaan seeks to build a stronger pipeline of skilled professionals for India’s evolving technology economy.
