Education Minister reviews CBSE Exam processes, focuses on transparency and efficiency

Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi held a meeting with senior officials of the Department of School Education and Literacy to review the functioning of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and strengthen its academic, examination and administrative processes.

The meeting comes after concerns were raised over the digital on-screen marking system used during this year’s CBSE examinations. Students had reported issues including discrepancies in marks, missing pages and unclear scans of answer sheets, leading to concerns about the examination and evaluation process.

During the review, Joshi emphasised the need for greater efficiency, transparency and stronger support for students and teachers. The discussions focused on identifying areas where CBSE’s examination and administrative systems can be improved to ensure a smoother and more reliable experience for students.

The review is part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen examination systems and address concerns related to evaluation and student services. The focus on transparency and efficiency is expected to guide improvements in CBSE’s academic and examination processes going forward.
